Daniel J. Dowling

Education:
Harvard University, Bachelor of Arts With High Honors in American History, 1988.

License:
B-1 Building Contractor with Home Improvement Certification, State of California; License #661966.

Experience:
Since founding DJ Dowling General Contractor Inc. in 1992, I have held virtually every position in the company. I have extensive field experience, having worked as a journeyman and foreman. I serve as a project manager, coordinating site operations, performing estimates, purchasing, scheduling, and client relations. I am also the President and own 100% of DJD Inc., which runs several million dollars worth of work each year. Our work includes taking over distressed projects, new houses, remodeling, and restoration of several National Historic Sites, such as Ralston Hall in Belmont, The Carolands in Hillsborough, and the Nuetra Home, also in Hillsborough. Our work has been featured in Designer’s Illustrated and Architectural Digest. Prior to founding DJ Dowling, I was a superintendent for Inwood Corporation, a local subdivision builder who built 20-30 homes a year. I also ran their ‘zero-defects’ warranty department.

Expert Experience:
We have experience on ‘distressed’ projects, water intrusion from every conceivable source (e.g. flat roofs, defective flashings, decks-over-living-space, EIFS, basement leaks, and window and door leaks), basement humidity, landslides, engineered fill, drainage, retaining walls with tie-backs, framing, concrete, heritage trees, hardwood and marble, sound transmission, fire damage, land surveys, and mold.
